31 Days of French-Inspired Style Day 23: Bedrooms
Are you like me? Do you spend most of your time decorating the more “public” spaces in your home? I’m totally guilty of spending about 90% of my decorating time on the places that guests will see when they visit and leaving my bedroom for “another day”.
I finally started working on the master bedroom about a year ago and it’s still not finished. Actually, there’s been painter’s tape along one wall for the better part of 4 months. Seriously, 4 months!
So how can we add some French-inspired beauty and romance to our bedrooms? It should probably start with the bed and the bedding.
Maybe a bed with some curves, like this…..
Or an antique French bed like this…
Add some bedding. Ticking and toile, anyone?
Or something in blue and white….
I love the mix of patterns in the bedding shown above!
But my favorite bedding is this neutral coverlet…
Next, bring in some romantic bedroom furniture like this…

or how about adding in one amazing piece of furniture like this silver leaf chest….
And some pretty objects on a bedside table would make going to bed and getting up much nicer, don’t you think? Much better than my huge stack of messy papers and books…
Here are a couple of master bedrooms to serve as inspiration….

I know that my bedroom should be my own private oasis. A place to go at the end of the day for rest and recharging for the next busy day. As I write this, I am determined that my next project will be to finish my own bedroom. At the very least, that painter’s tape has got to go!
P.S. When I finish the master bedroom, I’ll be sure to post some photos!
All of these were beautiful! Thanks for sharing this.
