Fall Tablescape in Warm Neutrals

Much of blogland seems to be ready for Christmas as soon as Halloween is over;)

But Autumn is my favorite time of year and Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and I want to savor them for as long as possible! So, I’m still decorating and photographing leaves and pumpkins and am not quite ready for Christmas trees and stockings.

A few weeks ago, I styled a fall table in cool colors of blue and white. Today, I’m styling a fall tablescape in warm neutrals with a pop of turquoise.

the centerpiece:

I started with the same linen tablecloth from Target, but this time I added a plaid throw blanket from Pottery Barn. I think a plaid scarf would work, too…..

Then, I added a wooden bowl with the same white pumpkin that was on the table before. This time I put some faux bittersweet vines around it. I wish I could remember where I bought this particular bittersweet because I really like it.

Next came some antlers, a few more pumpkins, and a couple of antique candelabra.

I bought the candelabra from a local shop and they are originally from Turkey. Isn’t that the great thing about buying things from antique shops? You can find things from every part of the world. And not just China:)

A few colorful leaves snipped from the backyard and placed in small glass bottles, and the center of the fall tablescape is done…..

the table setting:

For the table setting, I started with chargers that I painted in a verdigris finish (they started out life as gold) and my white plates (from Kohl’s). My grandmother downsized a few years ago, and since I have been a frequent hostess for our family holidays, she gave me her amber dish set and her silverware with gold trim. I’m so grateful for her gift, and I love the way it looks on this tablescape!

I bought some new fall napkins from World Market, added a paper leaf for the coaster, and a length of turquoise velvet ribbon to tie the silverware together…..

I tried something new today and made a quick slideshow video of my fall tablescape in warm neutrals….

I’m actually not hosting Thanksgiving this year; we will be at my sister’s house instead. But my husband’s uncle is coming over for his birthday dinner this week and I guess it will just be extra fancy;)

P.S. Here’s the tutorial on how to paint the verdigris finish that I used on the chargers.
